Reiter R9

Three pedals, and the lightest car we own.

Six gears, three pedals, 1,420 kilograms. The R9 is the lightest car in the collection and the only one you shift yourself, which is why it is booked far more often than its power figure would suggest.

It is also the car our own technicians take out at the end of a Friday. Nothing here is more rewarding at sensible speeds. The flat six revs to 8,300 and does its best work in the last third, but the chassis is talking to you from the first corner.

What the day includes

240 miles a day

Three hundred for Keyholders, unlimited for Curators. Beyond that it is £4.50 a mile, which covers tyres and servicing rather than punishing you.

Comprehensive insurance

Fully comprehensive cover with a £7,500 excess, halved for Keyholders and waived entirely at Curator level. The deposit is a hold, not a charge.

Delivery within 250 miles

On a covered transporter, at a time you choose, or collect from Motcomb Street. Either way the car arrives full and photographed.

Fourteen point preparation

Geometry, brakes, fluids, tyres and a twenty mile road test by the technician who prepared it, in the three days before it reaches you.
