Cass & Rory
A Highland estate held for a whole weekend: a candlelit hall, a barn ceilidh, and a bonfire on the shore of the loch.
Eighty-four guests, five hours from the nearest airport, for three nights. A weekend wedding in the Highlands is a logistics exercise wearing a very good outfit, and we planned it like one: coaches, room grids, welfare, midges, and a wet-weather plan with its own wet-weather plan.
The house held the ceremony in its great hall, lit with everything Chandler & Wick could send north. The barn held the ceilidh. The loch shore held the bonfire, which was still going when the band gave up.
It rained hard for exactly one hour on Saturday. Ask anyone who was there and they will tell you it did not.

“It rained sideways for an hour and I genuinely could not tell you when. That is what they do: they hold the weather somewhere else.”
